I was looking for a really hydrating serum that would do the job and that's when I came across the Vichy Mineral 89.

I wasn't completely convinced, but I decided to purchase it and give it a try.

First Impression

The packaging of this face serum showcases what's on the inside, which is the face serum.  

When I opened the packaging and I saw the Vichy Mineral 89, the first thing I thought, and I kid you not, was water which is very suiting because the products of the brand are powered by the Vichy Thermal Spa Water.

The Vichy Mineral 89 comes in a glass bottle with either 30ml, 50ml or 75ml (you can choose the size you want to purchase), the price is excellent because it goes accordingly to each amount which is quite a lot for your money's worth. 

It has a watery serum-like consistency, which makes it easy to spread evenly over your face while it absorbs quickly into your skin. 

I was very shocked that the moisturizer had no scent at all; not even chemical which makes this face serum even better; specially for those who can’t stand or are allergic to scent.

My Experience With The Vichy Mineral 89

The Vichy Mineral 89 is meant to hydrate, plump, strengthen and repair your skin barrier.

This lightweight serum has watery serum-like consistency which makes it so easy to apply and spread evenly on your face.

Every time I apply this face serum, my skin gets an instant surge of water that immediately hydrates, calms and soothes my skin which leads to a beautiful glow without clogging my pores. 

The formula only has 11 ingredients which is why it's so gentle and smooth, for even the most sensitive skin types. 

Finding a face serum that not only hydrated but really absorbed into my skin without causing irritation had been impossible until the Vichy Mineral 89.

The Disadvantages

Although none of the ingredients in the Mineral Vichy 89 are of any major concern, you should know about the possible side effects some of them might cause.

Methyl Gluceth-20 and Citric Acid are both considered safe ingredients, however, more research is needed to determined their safety. 

According to the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, Phenoxyethanol is safe to use in concentrations of 1%. However, in concentrations higher than 1%, the Safety Data Sheet describes this ingredient harmful if it comes in contact with your skin, is inhaled, or gets into your eyes.

Caprylyl Glycol is safe but at high concentrations could cause some irritation to your skin.
